1. When do you feel at your most attractive?

When I am about to go out to dinner with my husband, friend, ....

2. Do you notice women on the street? If so, what sort of women do you tend to notice or admire?

Yes. Women with a certain"flare"...scarf, necklace.....'put together.

3. What are some things you admire about how other women present themselves?

Detail.....accessories.....clean, fresh, hair...not 'made up'.

4. Was there a moment in your life when something “clicked” for you about fashion or dressing or make-up or hair? What? Why did it happen then, do you think?

When I started to work , I wanted to be professional AND comfortable.

5. What are some shopping rules you wouldn’t necessarily recommend to others but which you follow?

Must love it.....must "go to rink", "go to ...."

6. What are some rules about dressing you follow, but you wouldn't necessarily recommend to others?

Buy what you need and love.....not what is on sale.

7. What is the most transformative conversation you have ever had on the subject of fashion or style?

Talking with my best friends (of over 35 years)....making a pact never to buy something unless we LOVED it.....even if it were on sale.

8. Do you have a unified way of approaching your life, work, relationships, finances, chores, etc.? Please explain.

I supposed ....making sure I was 'doing" all of the above for the RIGHT reasons.....not just because I was afraid of what others thought of me.

10. Have you ever successfully given someone a present of jewelry or clothing that you continue to feel good about?

Yes. A ring to my daughter. All clothes for my husband.
Most clothes for my adult daughter.

11. Is there any fashion trend you’ve refused to participate in and why? 

ACID WASH JEANS. MINI SKIRTS. LEATHER PANTS.

12. Can you say a bit about how your mother’s body and style has been passed down to you, or not?

Yes....she was wearing 'cool stuff' at 80.....and looked good in it.

13. Have you stolen, borrowed or adapted any dressing ideas or actual items from friends or family?

yes......from my daughter on occasion.

14. Was there a point in your life when your style changed dramatically? What happened?

Yes....I stopped wearing 'drindle skirts' lol.
(for all the obvious reasons....)

15. Is there anything political about the way you dress?

I try not to buy OBVIOUS labels or know sweat shop user labels.

Average height. Slender. Good for what I want to do...lol.. Love it.

Amazing. Also good for what I need. Love it.

Good....happy with my family and life. Had an amazing career, amazing family (growing up) amazing family now! Realize I am very lucky.

Washed...mid length..good cut....down.

Not really....just like to look good.

21. With whom do you talk about clothes?

Daughter, friends....sometimes husband and son.

I had to dress more conservatively when working....

Classic. not too outrageous.
Words mean.....relatively timeless......jeans, white blouse or t shirt...blazer....good boots.....

24. Do you remember the biggest waste of money you ever made on an item of clothing?

Yes....some shoes loved....but never worn.

25. Are there any dressing tricks you’ve invented or learned that make you feel like you’re getting away with something?

Buy some items (good) and spend less on others. Over all effect is raised.

Home.....also classic. Car.....etc.

27. Can you recall some times when you have dressed a particular way to calm yourself or gain a sense of control over a situation that scared you?

No....not really.

28. Would you say you “know what you like” in the area of fashion and clothing? If so, do you also know what you like in other areas of life, that is, are you generally good at discernment? Can you say where your discernment comes from, if you have it? Or if you don’t have it, why or why not?

Yes. I'm not sure where it comes from.....not too concerned about what others think i guess.

29. Did your parents teach you things about clothing, care for your clothing, dressing or style? What lessons do you remember? Or did you just pick things up?

Dad...."shoes make the man". Don't skimp on shoes or coats.
Mom....'quality over quantity"

30. What sorts of things do you do, clothing or make-up or hair- wise, to feel sexy or alluring?

A touch more makeup.....a bit more attention to detail. Perfume.....perhaps.

31. Many people say they want to feel “comfortable,” or that they admire people who seem “confident.” What do these words really mean to you?

Comfortable in both how it feels on one's body....and how you see yourself..
Confident.....you feel good in your own body and clothes and convey that feeling to others.

32. If dressing were the only thing you did, and you were considered an expert and asked to explain your style philosophy, what would you say?

Make yourself happy.

33. What is really beautiful, for you, in general?

Confidences. Kindness.

34. What do you consider very ugly?

Slovenly dressing. Unkempt. Unclean.

35. Are you generally a good judge of whether what you buy will end up being worn? Have you figured out how to know in advance?

Yes.
Love it.

36. When you look at yourself before going out, and you are trying to see yourself from the outside, can you describe a bit about what this “other person” is like? What do they like, dislike, what sorts of judgments do they have? Is this “outer eye” based on someone you know or once knew?

Not really....more on what I like to see. Confusing....

Shower....am I walking the dogs first lol

Covering.....warmth....style. Suiting to activity for the day.

"dressing up".....going out for the evening.

Lots of 'stuff' is not me.

Only one time.....when I was working I had a suit that my boss hated...so I wore it as often as possible. lol

Wear something that fits properly. Good 'foundation' garment

Like the freshness of it.....again...subtle...not overpowering....just as in dress.

Again....moderate, conservative.

Not really.

When something wears out or gets ruined....I try to replace it.

My ambition is to be content and to have a confident family.....Clothes....?

Buy what you can afford. Does not need to change your style.

Wedding ring, sliver and gold bracelets, earrings, lipgloss.

Once in PARIS.....someone asked where I got my boots!!

Exaclty.....grade 2 someone made fun of my mittens which my mother had knit for me and had faces on them. Grade 6 I had knee high boots and someone made fun of them.
