1. When do you feel at your most attractive?

When I'm tan. Usually after a day at the beach when my face is a little sunburned and my hair is salty and a little blonder. Then going out that night, wearing black with my hair brushed (but not too brushed), wearing clothes that are soft. I feel hot when I tuck in my shirt.

2. Do you notice women on the street? If so, what sort of women do you tend to notice or admire?

Always. I'm always checking women out and staring at what they're wearing. I admire women who wear pieces with interesting cuts or structures. I think it's rad when girls have really short bangs or bold hair color, because that becomes just as much a part of their look (if not more so) than what they're wearing. I wear glasses and so I'm always scoping out cute frames, and often musing if the girl wearing them really needs glasses or if she's just accessorizing. I also stare down pregnant women too see how they dress their bellies––I pay attention to whether they follow trends despite being pregnant or if they seem to wear whatever fits.

3. What are some things you admire about how other women present themselves?

My friend Priscilla is the personification of everything I admire about self-presentation.
She's 25, has crazy curly blonde hair that she doesn't style, so she looks like Luna Lovegood would if she picked out her afro. She has little weird tattoos on her torso and arms, and thick tufts of cashew colored hair in her armpits which she doesn't shave.
She's so un-selfconscious and naturally beautiful. I want to be her.

4. Was there a moment in your life when something “clicked” for you about fashion or dressing or make-up or hair? What? Why did it happen then, do you think?

Not really. I started caring more about clothes my junior year of high school when I moved from Indiana to California and met my best friend, Makenzie. Makenzie had style, and an eye for upcoming trends. She would say, "I like how that girl's hair is lighter on the ends," before people identified the look as 'ombre'. She made me think more about what I wore. I wanted to look cute like she did, so we swapped clothes all the time, styling the same pieces differently based on our different preferences. I still don't know what really "works" on my body. I tend to wear clothes I like even if they don't flatter my shape and accentuate my boobs and small waist. I don't know why that is.

5. What are some shopping rules you wouldn’t necessarily recommend to others but which you follow?

I buy things on sale. I thrift. I go to yard sales. I like to buy lots of black and lots of white. I buy things purely because they're super soft. I try to find things that are a little weird, with interesting cut or structure.

6. What are some rules about dressing you follow, but you wouldn't necessarily recommend to others?

I don't like to wear push up bras or show cleavage, because I think it makes me look fat.

9. Are there any clothing (or related) items that you have in multiple? Why do you think you keep buying this thing?

I collect underwear. I have a separate dressers for my bras and underwear. I love having cute underthings on even if my outfit isn't that cute.

Please say anything you like about yourself that might put this survey into some sort of context.

I love shopping and clothes. My best friend and I share all of our clothes--she lives in San Diego and I live in LA, so sharing our clothes is a way of staying in touch.
