49. What is an archetypal outfit for you; one that you could have happily worn at any point in your life? What do you like about it?
A stripey top and skinny jeans. It's boring when you say it that way, I guess. I think depending on the cut of the top and how you style your hair, shoes, etc, you can dress it up or down.
Soft and skinny dark jeans, a tank top, and a blazer. Also, some nice sunglasses. I like that this look is classic. I wore a variation of this in grade 7, and would wear it today. It looks like me at my best.
pointy-toed flats, trousers, satin blouse. Pointy-flats look feminine and dressy without having to be heels in case comfort is an issue. pinstripe trousers always look classy and never seem to go out of style. Satin blouses lay nicely and are softer on the eye and body than a starched cotton.
Jeans and a tee and sleek sneakers. I like the ease of it, the comfort, the way I can make it look put together even though it's so casual.
T-strap heels, pencil skirt, sleeveless blouse (tucked in), cardigan. I love that it's vintage and subtly sexy and professional.
I've worn jeans, riding boots, a t-shirt and a cardigan more times than I can count. If everything fits well (as it should), it can be a really timeless, put together look.
Jeans and a t-shirt. I feel like this outfit has had many incarnations as my style has changed, and these changes have always been visible in that outfit, yet it is a trusty staple.
Shirt and shorts.
I like the flexibility and coolness of loose and short clothing - I can't wear long trousers, my legs get hot and uncomfortable. I like the fact that shorts show off my legs - I like my legs a lot and it always makes me happy to see them in passing mirrors. I like the fact that you can do anything at all in a shirt and pair of shorts: whether that's in an office, on a farm, walking up a mountain, relaxing on the beach, having/attending a dinner party, cycling, cooking, curled up on the sofa... There's nothing you can't do!
jeans teeshirt and sneakers, comfortable
I'd say my topshop button down and skinny jeans, because I think it's classic, a little bit sexy but not revealing at all, and I could wear it for 20 plus years to come.
Dress, boots, hat, perfect. Functional and free.
For years, my favourite outfit has been my purple over-all dress. I can wear it with anything, and it's so comfortable. It cinches around my waist so it's always flattering and it has pockets! I can wear it with tights, shorts, thigh highs, boots, long sleeves, short sleeves, under sweaters, or anything at all. It's so cool.
