61. What are some things you need to do to your body or clothes in order to feel presentable?
Wash em
Nothing really. I try to make sure my hair isn't insane, but aside from that as long as I'm clothed I'm okay, depending on the situation. Obviously I prefer to look fabulous all the time, but sometimes that's just not reasonable.
No – I don’t give a shit about being presentable unless I’m teaching or going to a meeting. I can barely fold my clothes, which is why I take my laundry to a wash and fold.
Put on chapstick and tweeze my eyebrows. If that’s all taken care of, the rest is just details.
I hate that I feel like I need to shave my legs if they are going to be exposed. It feels like a waste of energy, but I also don't want to be hassled about what my legs are "supposed" to look like. It's such a bullshit standard that I totally buy into.
Have a shower.
I like to have an outfit that matches. I like to take the time to do my makeup. But most importantly, whatever it takes to feel comfortable and confident.
i need to walk or hike every day in combo with a good nights sleep - if i don't do that i feel "off"
Tame my hair a bit from its sleepy, bedhead frizzy state. Throw something in the dryer or steam it to get wrinkles out before wearing.
wash, iron, hairspray
I find that taking a shower or a bath is the best thing in the world. I also try to sit in the sauna once or twice a month. As far as clothes go, they should never be wrinkled.
Wear eye make-up and make sure I believe in the colour combinations I'm wearing, despite what others might think.
If I want to seem like a serious, presentable person I take out all my earrings (4 in one ear, 2 in the other, since I was a teenager, once I took them all out "for good" but missed them and put them back in) and wear a pair of earrings instead. This, I believe, makes me into a serious member of society.
Be clean.
